Welcome to Casa Los Petates! Nestling on the edge of the sleepy Spanish hamlet of el romo it's elevated position provides panoramic views of surrounding mountains, villages and valleys. Experience the simplicity of every day rural life,(where traditional methods of farming the almonds and olives still exist, mules still plough and goatherds roam)! Whilst enjoying the temperate climate, the cuisine and friendliness of the Andalucian people.
Originally built over 100 years ago, Los Petates has been sympathetically restored to incorporate a blend of modern day comforts with rustic authenticity. The property enjoys stunning mountain views and has several furnished sun terraces plus a large roof terrace, fabulous for plotting the stars and constellations with an after dinner drink! Further complimented by it's own private pool (6x3.5m, max depth 4 feet) an outdoor bar with fridge plus BBQ area with sink and food preparation counter.

LOUNGE/DINING ROOM:
A spacious room with superb mountain views. Double opening doors to sun terracing, pool and BBQ area. Lounge area with satellite TV and video, new L shaped wrap around sofa, large coffee table, woodburner for winter evenings, initial log supply free during winter bookings.Bbookcase with selection of fiction novels and (if you prefer a change from the sun)! English videos, including popular films/series and a selection for children. There is a Dining area with table and chairs seating six, mexican sideboard with our well received drinks tray!
KITCHEN/BREAKFAST ROOM:
Well equipped, newly refitted in Andalucian style, with 3 ring gas cooker and oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle and toaster, original ornate fireplace, Breakfast table, ample cutlery, utensils, dishes and cool box.
BEDROOM ONE: ( The Green Room)
Double room with antique furniture, door to EN-SUITE shower room with large walk-in shower, leading to WC having modern close coupled suite and pedestal wash hand basin.
BEDROOM TWO: (The Pine room)
Double room, access to EN-SUITE with walk in shower, pedestal wash hand basin and close coupled wc.
BEDROOM THREE:
Twin room - Ideal for children as interconnects with bedroom two. Currently access to this bedroom is only through bedroom two.
Originally built approximately 100 years ago, and situated in the "campo" (countryside) between the white villages of COMARES and COLMENAR, (an uncomplicated 45 minute drive from Malaga airport (no dirt tracks)! the privately owned Los Petates, nestles on the outskirts of the sleepy Spanish hamlet of el romo, here, the friendly locals still farm the land, harvesting olives and almonds, mules are still used for ploughing and goatherds roam the verges. There is a local bar, sometimes busy, sometimes quiet, depending on harvest times, here, little English is spoken but you can be assured of a warm welcome from Antonio and his wife Maria, who along with serving you a cold beer or glass of local wine can usually rustle-up a simple local dish - upon request! Maria also keeps a few grocery items for sale including soft drinks and water. |
